Segundo Borba de Moraes, Crosse "escreveu um poema insignificante em 1625, intitulado Belgiaes Troubles and Triumphs... dando um relato, em 40 fólios, da guerra entre a Espanha e a Holanda durante os últimos quatro anos. E uma continuação desse poema foi publicada posteriormente, em 1627. O Dutch Survey é uma versão em prosa do poema".
